Additional Information

*Made to order. Please store in a cool, dry place. Do not store in direct sunlight or in a hot, humid areas. Our boxes, made entirely of paulownia wood, are all natural, so please avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity. Additionally, please avoid storage in a well-heated room during wintertime. There may be warping, discoloration, or mildew in crevices. Cracks may form as wood shrinks or expands. Discoloration and staining may occur if wiped with a wet towel or if stored somewhere humid. Each set of boxes and lids is one of a kind. If you have more than one, be sure to keep them separate so you know which lid matches which box.

The Kurawanka Collection gets its name from the Kurawanka period of Hasami ceramics. The series is reasonably priced and comprised of dishes meant to withstand the stresses of everyday use. We have developed our own kurawanka glaze to reproduce the no-frills look that characterized the original style of the period. The series’ simple shapes and sizes will match any type of cuisine.
